Kopsavilkums
Ievads: Asinsrites sistēmas slimības joprojām ir galvenais nāves cēlonis visā pasaulē. Pasaules
Veselības organizācija (PVO) aprēķina, ka 2019. gadā no kardiovaskulārām slimībām nomira 17,9
Introduction: Diseases of the circulatory system remain as the leading cause of deaths worldwide, WHO estimates 17,9 million people died of cardiovascular diseases in 2019 and over ¾ of CVD deaths occur in low and middle income countries. Most circulatory diseases are preventable by addressing well known behavioural risk factors: smoking, unhealthy diet, obesity, physical inactivity and excessive alcohol consumption. Modern working environments often promote these risk factors. This literature review aims to summarize basic information about circulatory diseases, its risk factors and connection to occupational health. Aim: This research paper literature review aims to review and summarize current information about circulatory diseases and its risk factors, emphasizing on prevalence, risk factors, occupational risks, prevention and intervention. Methods: Different literature databases were used to put together this literature review, for example PubMed, ScienceDirect, DynaMed). Articles collected included studies on cardiovascular risk factors, different cardiovascular diseases on occupational population, studies on different hazardous occupations and their connection to cardiovascular health, stress and its connection to cardiovascular health, occupational health and stress. Results: In this literature review cardiovascular health, diseases are summarized and their association with workplace health are examined. The risk factors are observed and connected with different occupational behaviours and lifestyles. Conclusions: Cardiovascular diseases remain as one of the most important health issues of modern day affecting people’s health, quality of life as well as being a high cost and workforce stressor for medicine worldwide. Studies on occupational health and cardiovascular diseases are numerous, however more specific evidence is needed and in the future system wide approach to prevent and minimalize risk factors.
