Abstract
Krjaukle D., (2020) Farmaceita loma HIV profilakses nodrošināšanā.
Krjaukle D., (2020) The role of a pharmacist in HIV prevention. Research work. Scientific supervisor Dr. pharm, doc. Inga Urtāne. Riga Stradins University. The research was about awareness of HIV prevention options, assessing the role of the pharmacist in educating risk group and society about HIV prevention. It was found that less than half of interviewed pharmacists would like to inform intravenous drug users about syringe exchange points. In the Baltic States, the number of syringe exchange points corresponds to the spread of HIV. Estonia has the highest number of syringe exchange points, as there are more infected people. Awareness of HIV prevention points activity in Latvia was analyzed among pharmacists, family doctors and methadone program participants. The result was that the most informed about HIV prevention points activity are former intravenous drug users. Also was looked at how much money is being spent on HIV prevention and treatment in Latvia and found that there has been no significant increase in costs in recent years.
