Kopsavilkums
Bachelor's thesis – Video story about the impact of social media content on eating disorders. The main goal of the work: To create a video story about the impact of social media content on eating disorders. Social media content has the potential to influence a wide audience, including their views on various topics, in this case, eating disorders. Only by openly discussing sensitive topics such as eating disorders can the media raise awareness among users about the prevalence of the problem, its symptoms and its consequences, as well as draw attention to the content they consume on a daily basis and how it affects them. The bachelor's thesis consists of two main parts - theory review, analysis and concept part. In the theoretical part, attention is paid to the existing academic literature on communication theories, more precisely to theories of mass media effects, eating disorders, their types, as well as looking at the principles and theory of multimedia and the basics of content creation, which are applied in the video development process. The concept part of the bachelor's thesis describes the rationale, message and realization of the creative work, which includes documentation of the interview, descriptions of filming, processing and editing of the video material. Analyzing and studying the selected theory, as well as developing the concept part, leads to several conclusions. At the end of the bachelor's thesis, insights are revealed about the existing need for understanding, responsibility and public action to address the potential negative impact of social media content on content consumers. The final product of the creative work is a video story, which is created based on the principles and steps of creating multimedia content. Based on an interview with a young woman who has struggled with an eating disorder and its consequences due to social media content, a video story has been created that reflects the problem of eating disorders and social media content. The bachelor's thesis "Video story about the influence of social media content on eating disorders" consists of 42 pages, 1 appendix and an 11-minute long video story.
