Kopsavilkums
Various studies have shown that plasma circulating microRNAs (miRNAs), especially miRNA-126, have an important role not only in physiological but also pathological processes of coronary artery diseases (CAD). Large-scale evidence shows that plasma circulating miRNA-126 influences the initiation of vascular tissue repair or angiogenesis and positively affects the stabilization of already formed plaque. However, the association between miRNAs and severity CAD remains unclear. In this study we evaluated the association between atherosclerosis-related miRNA-126, the severity of CAD characterized by the SYNTAX score and cardiovascular risk factors.
