Darba aktualitāte: Parkinsona slimība ir neirodeģeneratīvs process, slimība skar 2-3% iedzīvotāju no 65 gadu vecuma. Tiek paredzēts, ka līdz 2040. gadam ar šo slimību saskarsies aptuveni 17 miljoni cilvēku, tāpēc pacientiem ar Parkinsona slimību ir nepieciešams noskaidrot efektīvākās rehabilitācijas terapijas. Muskuļu spēks pacientiem ar Parkinsona slimību salīdzinājumā ar gados vecākiem cilvēkiem ir šķietami mazāks, kā arī ir pierādīts, ka spēka treniņš sniedz labvēlīgu ietekmi veseliem vecāka gadagājuma cilvēkiem, tomēr ir nepieciešami papildus pētījumi, lai noskaidrotu spēka vingrinājumu efektivitāti pacientiem ar Parkinsona slimību.
Darba mērķis: Noskaidrot spēka vingrinājumu efektivitāti kritienu risku mazināšanai un dzīves kvalitātes uzlabošanai pacientiem ar Parkinsona slimību.
Pielietotās metodes: Tika izmantotas tādas tiešsaistes datubāzes kā: ScienceDirect, PubMed un CochraneLibrary. Sistemātiskajā literatūras pārskatā tika iekļauti randomizēti kontrolēti pētījumi, pētījumi tika analizēti aprakstošā veidā.
Rezultāti: Sistemātiskajā literatūras pārskatā tika iekļauts viens augstas un divi vidējas kvalitātes pētījumi. Pētījumos tika iekļauti 219 dalībnieki, no kuriem vairākums bija vīriešu dzimtas pārstāvji. Intervences ilgums divos pētījumos bija 12 nedēļas, savukārt, vienā 8 nedēļas. Nevienā no pētījumiem netika uzrādīta statistiski nozīmīga atšķirība dzīves kvalitātes novērtēšanas anketā, savukārt, divos pētījumos tika novērota statiski nozīmīga atšķirība kritienu risku testā. Tikai vienā no pētījumiem tika veikti arī novērojumi ilgtermiņā.
Secinājumi: Literatūras pārskatā iekļautie pētījumi nepierāda spēka vingrinājumu efektivitāti dzīves kvalitātes uzlabošanā pacientiem ar Parkinsona slimību, savukārt, tie pierāda spēka vingrinājumu nozīmi kritienu riska mazināšanā īstermiņā pacientiem ar Parkinsona slimību. Turpmāk ir nepieciešami pētījumi par ilgtermiņa spēka vingrinājumu efektivitāti kritienu risku mazināšanai un dzīves kvalitātes uzlabošanai pacientiem ar Parkinsona slimību.
Title: Effectiveness of strength training for reducing falls risk and improving quality of life in patients with Parkinson's disease: a systematic review Background: Parkinson's disease is a neurodegenerative process, affecting 2-3% of the population aged 65 years and older. It is expected that by 2040, approximately 17 million people will have this disease, so there is a need to identify the most effective rehabilitation therapies for patients with Parkinson's disease. Muscle strength appears to be lower in patients with Parkinson's compared to the elderly, furthermore, the strength training has been shown to have beneficial effects in healthy elderly people, but more research is needed to investigate the effectiveness of strength training in Parkinson's patients. Aim: To investigate the effectiveness of strength training in reducing the fall risk and improving quality of life in patients with Parkinson's disease. Methods: In this study, the author used online databases such as ScienceDirect, PubMed and Cochrane Library. The systematic literature review included randomized controlled trials, and studies were analyzed descriptively. Results: The systematic literature review included one high-quality and two medium-quality studies. The studies included 219 participants, the majority of whom were male. The intervention duration was 12 weeks in two studies and 8 weeks in one. None of the studies showed a statistically significant difference in the quality-of-life questionnaire, while two studies showed a statistically significant difference in the falls risk test. Only one of the studies also had long-term follow-up. Conclusion: The studies included in the literature review do not prove the effectiveness of strength training in improving quality of life in patients with Parkinson's disease, but they do prove the importance of strength training in reducing the short-term fall risk in patients with Parkinson's disease. Further research is needed on the long-term effectiveness of strength training in reducing the fall risk and improving quality of life in patients with Parkinson's disease.
