Kopsavilkums
Ievads.
Metodes.
Introduction. The world population is aging. Given the international scope of the trends, the near future will be characterized by increasing the age-diverse workforce and the older workforce. Population aging creates a significant risk to the drop of the economy. However, it stimulates people to think and find ways to stop or diminish the problem's development. Aim. The study aimed to define aging and identify chronic conditions that usually develop at an older age, identify all the risks and problems, and the opportunities that come together with the workforce and population in general aging. Tasks. 1. To analyze the literature available to evaluate the chronic conditions that come with age and find out more about how it influences the quality of life of the elderly. 2. To compile current literature data on the aging population and aging workforce's problems bring to the economy, industrialization, and healthcare. 3. To evaluate possible pros of the population aging, using the data available. Hypothesis. The world population and workforce aging have more challenges than opportunities. Methods. This literature review was performed using articles and researches published on PubMed, Clinical Key, Up To Date, and Science Direct. Books and some internet sources were used to compile the information on the population and workforce aging and problems that might come with it and find points that approve or contrary disapprove hypothesis. Results. Many factors contribute to population aging – reduction in fertility rates, increased expectancy years, and many environmental factors. It is also a challenge to keep people of all ages, especially the elderly, integrated into society and provide ways of participation. Automatization of the mechanical processes, increase in the dependency ratio – these challenges are hard to handle, they can lead to the collapse of the economic system. However, aging also comes with opportunities for future development. Conclusion. The aging process cannot be stopped, thus people need to find a way to protect the world from the collapse that the aging population can bring. We shouldn't also forget about all the opportunities that the workforce and population, in general, comes with.
