Abstract
The author of the Doctoral Thesis “Consolidation of Capital in Roman Law And Its Influence on The Modern Legal Institutes of The Republic of Latvia” has studied and analyzed the legal regulation comprised by the Roman legal primary sources regarding the merging of economic resources and the procedure of common management, as well as there has been evaluated the ideological influence of the above mentioned regulation on the modern legal institutions of the Republic of Latvia. Thus, there has been performed the evaluation of the developmental economic preconditions of respective Roman legislation, the identification and summarization of the Roman legal primary sources related to the research problems, there has been studied and analyzed the legal regulation regarding the formation and functioning of Roman partnership or partnership contract (societa – Latin), as well as the formation and functioning of Roman corporative bodies - associations (universitatis – Latin), guilds and corporations (collegiis et corporibus – Latin). The author has performed the analysis of the ideological interconnection between the Roman legal primary sources and the modern legislation of Latvia. In total there have been processed and analyzed 603 Roman legal primary sources. The footnotes are provided in order to explain additionally the meaning and essence of separate concepts related to the Roman institutes and the culture and state system of Ancient Rome.
