Ievads: Nozokomiālās infekcijas ir viena no nozīmīgākajām problēmām mūsdienu medicīnā. Neskatoties uz to, ka dažādi infekciju avoti slimnīcās ir plaši izpētīti, pasaules literatūrā trūkst datu par bērnu rotaļlietām kā patogēno mikroorganismu rezervuāru slimnīcu spēļu istabās. Pētījuma mērķis bija identificēt un kvantificēt baktērijas, kuras kolonizē rotaļlietas Bērnu klīniskās universitātes slimnīcas dažādu nodaļu spēļu istabās.
Metodes: Tika paņemti nomazgājumi no 120 rotaļlietu identiska izmēra laukumiem laika periodā no 2018. gada aprīļa līdz 2018. gada novembrim. Iegūtie nomazgājumi tika transportēti uz RSU mikrobioloģijas laboratoriju. Nomazgājumi tika uzsēti uz asins agara, mannitola sāls agara, Levina agara, Saburo barotnēm un kultivēti 24-72 stundas 37°C. Pēc kultivēšanas noteikts KVV/cm2. Iegūtās kolonijas identificētas, izmantojot VITEK2 metodi.
Rezultāti: No 120 nomazgājumiem ≥1 KVV kopumā iegūta 100 gadījumos. Vislielākais vidējais KVV/cm2 iegūts no plastmasas rotaļlietām (91.9), pēc kurām sekoja koka rotaļlietas (34.2) un metāliskas rotaļlietas (2). Kopumā tika identificētas 4 ģintis un 37 mikroorganismu sugas. Vislielākais vidējais KVV/cm2 (65.5) tika iegūts no rotaļlietām, kas atradās kardioloģijas, kardioķirurģijas, ķirurģijas nodaļā. Tam sekoja gastroenteroloģijas, reimatoloģijas, endokrinoloģijas nodaļa ar vidējo KVV/cm2 35.2. No nomazgājumiem, kuri paņemti no rotaļlietām hallē, vidējais KVV/cm2 bija 24.7. Dienas stacionārā vidējais KVV/cm2 bija 8.2. Vissastopamākie mikroorganismi bija Sphmon. paucimobilis- >603 KVV/cm2, Pantoea spp.- >575 KVV/cm2, Alloiococcus otitis- >569 KVV/cm2, Rothia dentocariosa ->567 KVV/cm2 un Kocuria rosea - >538 KVV/cm2.
Secinājumi: Vislielākais vidējais KVV/cm2 tika iegūts no rotaļlietām kardioloģijas, kardioķirurģijas, ķirurģijas nodaļā. Pētījuma laikā tika identificēti S. aureus, Enterococcus faecium un Acinetobacter baumanii, savukārt to KVV/cm2 bija relatīvi mazs un noteiktais jūtīgums pret antibiotikām liecināja, ka augsts nozokomiālas infekcijas izplatības risks no bērnu rotaļlietām ir mazticams.
Introduction. Nosocomial infections are one of the biggest problems in medicine. A spectrum of sources of infection has been carefully studied. However, there is a lack of information about children toys as a reservoir of pathogen microorganisms in hospital playrooms. The aim is to identify and quantitatively analyse bacterial agents contaminating toys in several department playrooms of the Children’s Clinical University hospital (CCUH). Methods. Swabs from equally large areas of 120 toys were collected between April and November 2018. Swabs were transported to Riga Stradins University Microbiology laboratory, and cultivated on blood agar, mannitol salt agar, Levine agar, Sabouraud agar for 24-72h at 37°C. Then colony forming units per square centimetre (CFU/cm2) were counted. Colonies were identified using VITEK2 method. Results. At least 1 CFU grew from 100 of the total swabs. Plastic toys showed the highest average CFU/cm2 (91.9), followed by wooden (34.2), and metal (2) toys. As a result, 4 genera and 37 species were identified. The highest average CFU/ cm2 (65.5) was obtained from toys of the cardiology, cardiosurgery and surgery department. The gastroenterology, rheumatology and endocrinology department showed an average CFU/cm2 of 35.2 and the hall of CCUH: 24.7 CFU/cm2. Toys from the day hospital had an average CFU/cm2 of 8.2. The most frequent pathogens were Sphmon. paucimobilis (>603 CFU/cm2), Pantoea spp. (>575 CFU/cm2), Alloiococcus otitits (>569 CFU/cm2), Rothia dentocariosa (>567 CFU/cm2) and Kocuria rosea (538 CFU/cm2). Conclusions. Toys from cardiology, cardiosurgery and surgery department showed the highest average CFU/cm2. Most of the identified microorganisms were members of the normal microflora. Although microorganisms such as S. aureus, Enterococcus faecium and Acinetobacter baumanii were also identified, the obtained CFU/cm2 was relatively low and all of them were sensitive to antibiotics, which overturns the assumption of toys being a risk site for nosocomial infections.
