Kopsavilkums
Mūsdienīgs augsta līmeņa profesionāls modernās pieccīņnieks, apguvis visus sporta veida aspektus, bieži vien nespēj sacensībās veikt pat nelielu daļu no tā, ko viņš var paveikt treniņos.
A modern high-level professional modern pentathlon athlete, having mastered all aspects of the sport, is often unable to perform even a small part of what he can do in training in competitions. The reason may be precisely the insufficient mental resilience, which is very important in the technical disciplines of modern pentathlon. This is due to the fact that athletes not only compete with opponents, but also with their own mental state in each shooting part of the competition in the laser run discipline. In reality, systematic psychological preparation in modern pentathlon does not take place, it is carried out only episodically. The aim of the study is to evaluate the impact of the implementation of the psychological task of developing imagination on the results of shooting control exercises in the laser run discipline in modern pentathlon and to develop recommendations for coaches. The study will provide recommendations for coaches on the use of various psychological preparation techniques, emphasizing the tasks of developing imagination in shooting in the laser run discipline in the training process. Until now, no similar recommendations have been developed for modern pentathlon coaches or athletes. The methods used in the master's thesis were: research and analysis of literature sources, questionnaire (Sport Imagery Ability Questionnaire), testing (control exercise, pulsometry and optical laser), ascertaining experiment and mathematical statistics. The data comparing both control exercises before and after the experiment confirm the research hypothesis: if the psychological task of developing imagination abilities is implemented in the regular training process of the modern pentathlon laser run discipline 3 times a week for 2 months, it will increase the results of shooting control exercises. However, larger individual variations in some categories indicate the need for further research to identify the causes of this difference. The results obtained in the study provide an opportunity for further research in this area.
