Kopsavilkums

This work focuses on the current theme of modern international relations: Georgia's relationship with the European Union. This bachelor's work focused on the foreign policy identity of Georgia and on the factors affecting integration into the European Union. It analyzed Georgia's foreign policy strategy, set specific objectives and objectives for achieving its external political identity. There was an understanding that Georgia had chosen its foreign-policy identity as the identity of the West. The author of the work has examined the theoretical approaches of the social constructivism to the interpretation of Georgia's foreign-political identity in integration into the European Union following the first elections and the change of power in 2012. The role of social design “I/others” consisting of idealistic factors, interests, and ideas, since Georgia's foreign policy is described as not only what it wants to be about, but also what its nature really is. Reforms, the main agreements in the Association Agreements and the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area were also examined, the main lines within the Eastern Partnership, and what needs to be done to move closer to integration into the European Union. It was also examined whether it was that Georgia's pro-Western foreign politicy orientation stems from ideas and identity, not just from materialistic and system factors. It was concluded that Georgia's foreign political identity had only a partial impact on the integration process in the European Union since 2012, as there are other factors, examples of which were examined at work. Yet even if legitimacy or economic gains are important to the Georgian government, they stem from their identity and from their peers to the West as a source of freedom and democracy.
