Kopsavilkums
Nosaukums: Ceļa locītavas funkcionālo problēmu saistība ar dejošanas ilgumu A grupas tautas deju kolektīvu dejotājiem.
Pilngadīgajiem A grupas latviešu deju kolektīvu dejotājiem interneta vidē tika nosūtīts pētījuma instruments – pašvērtējuma anketa “KOOS aptauja par ceļa locītavas problēmām” (Knee injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score).
Title: Relation between functional problems of the knee joint and dancing duration in dancers of A-class Latvian folk dance ensembles. Background: 75% -95% of ballet dancers get at least one injury a year. On average, the injury incidence rate is 1.09 to 3.52 injuries per 1000 dance hours in both male and female dancers. Overuse injuries in the spine and lower extremities are most common in the dancer population. Purpose: The aim of this study was to find out the prevalence of the knee joint functional problems in dancers of A-class Latvian folk dance ensembles and the correlation between knee joint problems and years of experience in dancing. Methods: The study was designed as a quantitative study. A research tool was sent to adult dancers of A-class Latvian folk dance ensembles via social media - a self-assessment questionnaire KOOS (Knee injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score). This questionnaire includes five sections - “Symptoms” (seven questions), “Pain” (nine questions), “Function, daily living” (17 questions), “Function, sport and recreational activities” (five questions), “Quality of life” (four questions). The obtained data were collected and analyzed using mathematical statistical methods (mean, standard deviation, median, Spearman correlation, Simple Kruskall-Walis test for group comparison). Results: Among 100 participants 67 were female and 33 were male. 79% of dancers have experienced symptoms in the knee joint during the last week, 44% of dancers have experienced pain during various activities. 21% of dancers have experienced, that knee problems affect the functions in daily living, but 68% of dancers have experienced, that knee problems affect the functions in sport and recreational activities. 61% of dancers have experienced that knee problems affect their quality of life. No statistically significant results were obtained when performing the Spearman correlation analysis, but comparing the groups “Dance less than 10 years”, “Dance 10-19 years” and “Dance 20-30 years” it was proved that knee problems are more common in the group “Dance 10-19 years ”. Conclusion: It was concluded that the prevalence of knee joint functional problems such as symptoms (swelling, clicking, grinding) and pain is high among dancers, but limited range of motion in the knee joint is not a common functional problem among dancers. Knee problems do not affect the functions in daily living, but affect the functions in sports and recreational activities for most dancers. Although there is no correlation between years of experience in dancing and knee problems, dancers who dance 10-19 years are more likely to have knee problems than those who dance less than 10 or 20 years and more.
