Šī darba mērķis ir izpētīt klīnisko izpausmju un kondīla morfoloģijas korelāciju temporomandibulārajos locītavu traucējumos (TMD), izmantojot konusa stara datortomogrāfiju (CBCT) un magnētiskās rezonanses attēlus (MRI). Pētījums analizē, kā morfoloģiskās izmaiņas kondīlī, tādas kā saplacināšanās, erozija, skleroze, osteofītu veidošanās un asimetrija, ir saistītas ar TMD simptomiem, piemēram, sāpēm, klikšķiem un ierobežotām žokļa kustībām.
Pētījuma rezultāti atklāj, ka kondīla saplacināšanās ir visbiežākā izmaiņa, bieži saistīta ar diska dislokāciju un deģeneratīvās locītavu slimības (DJD) attīstību. Skleroze un asimetrija tiek identificētas kā adaptīvas reakcijas uz mehānisko slodzi. Ilgtermiņa pētījumi uzsver dažu TMD simptomu pašierobežojamo dabu, kas uzsver neinvazīvu ārstēšanas stratēģiju potenciālu.
Darbs uzsver nepieciešamību standartizēt mērījumu protokolus, lai uzlabotu datu salīdzīnāmību. Agrīna morfoloģisko izmaiņu atklāšana, izmantojot CBCT un MRI, var nodrošināt profilaktiskas ārstēšanas stratēģijas, piemēram, stabilizējošu individuālu terapiju.
This thesis explores the correlation between clinical manifestations and condylar morphology in temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD) using Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) as diagnostic tools. The study investigates how morphological changes in the condyle, such as flattening, erosion, sclerosis, osteophyte formation, and asymmetry, relate to TMD symptoms like pain, clicking, and limited jaw mobility. Analysis of recent literature highlights the role of condylar morphology in predicting clinical symptoms and disease progression. Flattening of the condyle emerges as the most prevalent change, frequently linked to disc displacement and degenerative joint disease (DJD). Sclerosis and asymmetry are identified as adaptive responses to mechanical stress, with significant implications for joint stability and function. Longitudinal studies emphasize the self-limiting nature of certain TMD symptoms, underscoring the potential for non-invasive treatment strategies. The study also highlights the need for standardized measurement protocols to improve cross-study comparability and reproducibility. These findings support early intervention strategies, including stabilization splint therapy, to prevent disease progression. The integration of CBCT and MRI enhances diagnostic precision, enabling clinicians to identify morphological changes at an earlier stage, facilitating timely, individual therapy.
