Kopsavilkums
Topic of the work is “Speech and language development in children with grade 3 hearing loss at the age of 5”. The amount of work is 33 pages. The work includes 2 tables, 9 pictures and 2 attachments. The study studied the subject issue of whether a well-compensated hearing disorder contributes better to speech and language development, in children with Grade 3 hearing loss? The aim of the work is to explore the development of speech and language in 5-year-old children with Grade 3 hearing loss, depending on the timing of the hearing compensating device. The study was carried out at the Latvian Children’s Hearing Centre, where 1120 patient outpatient cards were examined and 66 patient outpatient cards were selected after switching on and off criteria, which were analysed in depth. Out of 66 patient outpatient cards, the study included 62 patient outpatient cards, since all outpatient cards were not provided with all the necessary information in detail, so I could not include them. The study data were compiled and analysed. The aim of the study was achieved. An analysis of the results of the study showed that out of 66 patient outpatient cards, the study found that 62 patient outpatient cards were valid. The data gathered showed the results of the number of children with F 80.0 and F 80.9, and the number of years in which the hearing aid was placed and the age groups gathered and described information on the development of children’s speech and language. In 7 children, the hearing aid was placed in 2 years, 13 children, the hearing aid was placed in 3 years, 18 children, the hearing aid was placed in 4 years, 24 children, the hearing aid was placed in 5 years. In the analysis of the results of the study, it can be concluded that out of 62 patient outpatient cards, 41 children or 66% have language and speech problems, while 21 children or 34% have problems with phonetic sounds. In the study, children with grade 3 hearing loss showed better speech and language development, who received compensation at the age of 4: 56% have specific speech articulation disorders and 44% have speech and language development disorders. In the study, the worst results are shown by children who started using hearing aids at the age of 2 and 5 years: 29% have specific speech articulation disorders and 71% still have speech and language development disorders. For children who started using hearing aids at the age of 3 and 5: 85% have speech and language development disorders, but 15% have specific speech articulation disorders.
