Kopsavilkums
Darba nosaukums. ”Mirstības no ārējiem cēloņiem sezonāls raksturojums populācijas demogrāfiskās grupās” Darbā iekļauts ievads, literatūras apraksts, metodoloģijas sadaļa, rezultāti, kurā ir 22 attēli un divas tabulas, darba rezultātu analīze, tad seko secinājumi un seši pielikumi. Darbs sastāv no 55 lpp.
Ievads.
Vīrieši veidoja 73% no visiem mirušajiem.
Title. "Seasonal characteristics of mortality from external causes in demographic groups of the population" The work includes an introduction, a description of the literature, a methodology section, results, which include 22 figures and two tables, an analysis of the results of the work, followed by conclusions and six appendices. The work consists of 55 pages. Introduction. Mortality from external causes is an important public health indicator that indicates the loss of human life due to injuries, accidents, violence or suicide (Official Statistics Portal). Injuries and accidents can be related to everyday activities, such as traffic accidents, household accidents or sports injuries. Violence, including crime and suicide, pose an even greater challenge because it is often associated with social factors and psychological disorders. Mortality rates from external causes reflect not only individual health, but also the overall well-being and safety of society. Hypothesis. Mortality from external causes varies among demographic groups and varies by season. Aim of the study. To determine mortality from external causes and its types in various demographic groups of the population, in a seasonal perspective in Latvia in the period from 2018 to 2023. Method and instrument. The bachelor's thesis used data from the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC) on mortality from external causes in Latvia for the period from 2018 to 2023, obtained from the Cause of Death Register. Descriptive statistical methods were used for data processing and analysis, such as the chi-square test to evaluate statistically significant differences between seasons and demographic groups. Data analysis was performed using MS Excel and IBM SPSS Statistics software. Results. Between 2018 and 2023, 8,968 deaths from external causes were registered in Latvia, the most common of which were suicides, falls, transport accidents, poisoning (including alcohol) and drowning. Men accounted for 73% of all deaths. Transport accidents dominated among children, suicides among young people, suicides and poisoning among adults, and falls among seniors. Mortality from transport accidents and drowning was highest in summer and autumn, falls most often occurred in winter, and poisoning in the winter months. Overall, the data show significant differences by gender, age and season, especially highlighting adult men as the highest risk group.
