Abstract
Nosaukums

Hypothesis There is a relation between inpatient working conditions and midwives’ motivation to work. Methodology A correlation is sought between motivation to work and the working conditions. Author uses a questionnaire as a data obtaining tool. A “snowball” method is used for selecting respondents. Data is analyzed with the statistical methods selected. Results and conclusion The highest correlation coefficient between the self-assessment of midwives’ motivation and factors relating to working conditions was identified between: improvement of skills, creative (challenging) work, job security, salary increase and relations with manager and colleagues. Judging by the self-assessment of the midwives’ motivation the average was 7.11 and this should be maintained and stimulated so that motivation and quality of care does not decrease.
