Aktualitāte: Statistikas dati liecina, ka 2024. gadā Latvijā reģistrēti 93700 bērni ar pirmreizēju vai atkārtotu invaliditāti (Oficiālās statistikas portāls, n.d.). Atbilstošu tehnisko palīglīdzekļu izsniegšana un pielāgošana atvieglo personu ar funkcionālajiem traucējumiem iekļaušanos sabiedrībā (WHO, 2024). Pētījumos ir pierādīts, ka psihosociālas problēmas var nelabvēlīgi ietekmēt pacientu spēju tikt galā ar savu slimību un pārvaldīt to (Institute of Medicine (US) Committee on Psychosocial Services to Cancer Patients/Families in a Community Setting; Adler NE, Page AEK, editors, 2008).
Darba mērķis: Sagatavot Tehnisko palīglīdzekļu psihosociālās ietekmes skalas (PIADS) bērnu latviešu valodas versiju un veikt psihometrisko īpašību pārbaudi.
Pētījuma dizains: kvantitatīvs, neeksperimentāls pētījums.
Pētījuma metodes:
• Pētījuma dalībnieki: bērni vecumā no 10 līdz 17 gadiem, kuri izmanto pārvietošanās palīgierīces ne mazāk kā sešus mēnešus.
• Izmantotais novērtēšanas instruments: Tehnisko palīglīdzekļu psihosociālās ietekmes skalas (PIADS) bērnu versija (Maryville University, 2018).
• Datu apstrādes statistikas metodes: Cronbach’s alfa koeficients. Pīrsona korelācijas koeficients. Aprakstošā statistika.
Pētījuma rezultāti un secinājumi: Instruments kopumā un katra no tā apakšsadaļām demonstrēja augstu iekšējo saskaņotību (Cronbah’s alfa = 0,812–0,894). Šāds rezultāts ir būtisks priekšnoteikums instrumenta piemērojamībai zinātniskā pētniecībā, jo nodrošina, ka ar tā palīdzību iegūtie dati ir gan statistiski uzticami, gan konceptuāli konsekventi. Analīzes rezultāti atklāja augstu korelāciju starp pirmreizējā un atkārtotā mērījuma rezultātiem – Pīrsona korelācijas koeficients bija 0,892, kas liecina par ļoti labu instrumenta stabilitāti.
Title: Testing the psychometric properties of the Latvian language version of the Psychosocial impact of assistive devices scale in the child population Relevance: Statistical data show that in 2024, there were 93,700 children in Latvia registered with either a first–time or repeated disability (Oficiālās statistikas portāls, n.d.). The provision and adaptation of appropriate assistive devices facilitates the inclusion of individuals with functional impairments into society (WHO, 2024). Studies have shown that psychosocial issues can adversely affect a patient's ability to cope with and manage their condition (Institute of Medicine (US) Committee on Psychosocial Services to Cancer Patients/Families in a Community Setting; Adler NE, Page AEK, editors, 2008). Aim of the work: To prepare the Latvian version of the Psychosocial Impact of Assistive Devices Scale (PIADS) for children and evaluate its psychometric properties. Study Design: Quantitative, non–experimental study. Research methodology: • Participants: Children aged from 10 to 17 years who have been using mobility aids for no less than six months. • Used assessment instrument: Children's version of the Psychosocial Impact of Assistive Devices Scale (PIADS) (Maryville University, 2018). • Statistical methods of data processing: Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. Pearson correlation coefficient. Descriptive statistics. Results and Conclusions: The instrument, both overall and in each of its subscales, demonstrated high internal consistency (Cronbach’s alpha = 0,812–0,894). This result is a significant prerequisite for the tool’s applicability in scientific research, ensuring that the data obtained are both statistically reliable and conceptually coherent. Analysis results revealed a high correlation between initial and repeated measurement scores – Pearson’s correlation coefficient was 0.892, indicating very good instrument stability.
