Kopsavilkums
Ņirgāšanās izplatība svārstās no 8,8% Armēnijā līdz 49,7% Latvijā.

Objective: To determine the prevalence of alcohol and e-cigarette use in relation to bullying among 13- and 15-year-old adolescents in Latvia Relevance: Adolescence is a significant period of change. During this time, many adolescents ecperience bullying or engage in bullying behavior themselves. Bullying most commonly occurs in educational institution. The prevalence of bullying ranges from 8.8% in Armenia to 49.7% in Latvia. The impact of bullying is significant not only in terms of well-being but also closely associated with risky behavior and development of addictions. International studies indicate that involvement in bullying – whether as a perpetrator or victim – is associated with increased likelihood of alcohol and e-cigarette use. Study design: Cross-sectional study Study methods: The bachelor’s thesis is based on data from the 2022/2023 school year collected as part of international Health Behaviour in School-aged Children (HBSC) study. The analysis included data from a total of 4064 adolescents aged 13 and 15. Descriptive and analytical statistical methods were used. Differences were assessed using cross-tabulation and the Chi-square test. Statistical significance was determined based on p-values (p<0.05). Findings: Lifetime alcohol use prevalence was 47.8% among girls and 38.4% among boys. In the past 30 days, 22.4% of girls an 16.8% of boys reported using alcohol. With increasing age, the prevalence of both alcohol and e-cigarette use also increased. The prevalence of alcohol use is higher among 13- and 15-year-old adolescents who have experienced bullying. In both age groups, the prevalence of e-cigarette use in the past 30 days differed significantly depending on whether the adolescents had bullied others. Structure of work: The work of the Bachelor is structured in 5 chapters and 21 subchapters. The total amount of bachelor’s work is 76 pages, including 12 pictures, 21 tables and 5 attachments. A total of 82 literature sources were used. Language: Latvian
