ANNOTATION The bachelor's thesis “The Best Interests of the Child in the Context of Contact Rights” addresses a significant and topical legal issue – ensuring the protection of children's rights in situations related to contact rights. The thesis analyzes the protection of the best interests of the child, the legal framework, as well as the role of orphans' court decisions and their impact on judicial practice. The author examines how various legal norms and their interpretation interact with the resolution of practical situations and identifies several issues related to the ambiguity and inadequacy of legal norms in meeting the needs of modern society. The author concludes that the broad and complex interpretation of children's rights requires more specific and effective mechanisms to ensure the best interests of the child in various challenging circumstances. The thesis provides proposals for improving the legal framework, such as enhancing the process of making and implementing decisions by orphans' courts to increase their effectiveness. The author argues that it is necessary not only to clarify legal norms but also to adapt them to the changing needs and realities of society. The legal problem addressed in the research is that although a legal framework exists, it fails to resolve issues encountered in practice. The aim of the study is to analyze the legal framework of the best interests of the child, contact rights, and orphans' court decisions, to identify problems, and to propose solutions for improving the legal framework. Scope of the thesis: 67 pages Keywords: child rights protection, orphans' court decisions, contact rights, best interests, parental disputes.
