Kopsavilkums
Secondary iatrogenic dacryocystitis is a rare and challenging complication that requires interdisciplinary approach and special attention from both otorhinolaryngologic and ophthalmologic specialties. The secluded anatomy of the lacrimal pathway presents a great challenge for specialists to approach it. It’s location falls into the “no man’s land”, which confuses the specialists as to whose area of expertise the lacrimal pathway belongs to. The aim of this case report is to emphasise the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration between specialists from different medical fields to properly diagnose and successfully treat iatrogenic pathologies of the nasolacrimal pathway. The goal would be to raise awareness about this problem and encourage communication between the specialists.
