Abstract
Rezultāti: No 2020.gada decembra iekļauti 5 pacienti, 60% sievietes. Pētījuma laikā vienam ČK pacientam depresijas līmenis samazinājās, vienam tas palika nemainīgs, trijiem pieauga vidēji par 1 punktu. Diviem dalībniekiem trauksmes līmenis palika nemainīgs, diviem samazinājās, vienam palielinājās. Četriem noguruma līmenis pieauga vidēji par 4,25 punktiem, vienam samazinājās. Pētījuma sākumā dalībnieku diētas atbilstība Ziemeļvalstu diētai bija no 1 līdz 6 JZDS punktiem, pēc sešām nedēļām visiem ČK pacientiem tika novērota atbilstības līmeņa paaugstināšanās vidēji par 2,4 JZDS punktiem.
Secinājumi: Čūlainā kolīta pacientu uztura paradumu atbilstības līmenis Ziemeļvalstu diētas principiem 6 nedēļu laikā palielinās. Dalībnieku trauksmes līmenim un depresijas līmenim pētījuma laikā bija tendence samazināties, taču viņu noguruma līmenis palielinājās. Ziemeļvalstu diētas ievērošana sešu nedēļu laikā daļēji uzlaboja ČK pacientu labsajūtu.
The title of the work: The Nordic diet as a treatment method to improve the well-being of patients with ulcerative colitis. The aim of the study: To find out whether the Nordic diet (ND) improves the well-being of ulcerative colitis (UC). Hypothesis: Adherence to ND for 6 weeks improves the well-being of patients with ulcerative colitis. Methods: This case study series is a part of the research project of the Institute of Clinical and Preventive Medicine of the University of Latvia “Study of the origin and changes of human blood microbiome and its connection with chronic changes”. Inflammatory Bowel Disease-Fatigue (IBD-F) Self-assessment Scale, the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), the Food Frequency Questionnaire, the Diet Adherence Questionnaire and the New Nordic Diet score (NNDS) were used. A booklet of Nordic dietary recommendations was developed to educate participants. Data processing and analysis were performed using Microsoft Excel 2016. Results: As of December 2020, 5 patients are included, 60% women. Within the study, depression level decreased for one patient with UC, remained unchanged for one patient, and increased on average by one point for the other three. For two participants, the anxiety level remained unchanged, for other two decreased and for one increased. The fatigue level increased by an average of 4.25 points for four participants and for one decreased. At the beginning of the study, the participants' dietary adherence to the Nordic diet ranged from 1 to 6 NNDS points, after six weeks, all UC patients had an average increase in adherence level by 2.4 NNDS points. Conclusions: The adherence level to the dietary habits of patients with ulcerative colitis with the Nordic dietary principles increases within 6 weeks. Participants' levels of anxiety and depression tended to decrease during the study, but their levels of fatigue increased. Adherence to the ND for six weeks partially improved the well-being of patients with UC.
