Anotācija
Pētījuma ietvaros paredzēts analizēt iepriekš veiktus pētījumus par temporomandibulāro locītavu osteoporozes gadījumā. Pēc Ostheoporosis International sniegtajiem datiem pasaulē ar osteoporozi slimo ap 200 miljonu pacientu. Attīstītajās valstīs osteoporoze sasniedz 2%-8% vīriešu un 9%-38% sieviešu.
Pētījuma mērķis ir veicot literatūras pārskatu, noskaidrot osteoporozes ietekmi uz temporomandibulārās locītavas struktūrām un funkciju. Pētījumā tika izvirzīta hipotēze: Indivīdiem ar osteoporozi TML novēro morfoloģiskas, strukturālas un funkcionālas izmaiņas.
Literatūras pārskatā tika apskatīta osteoporozes un temporomandibulāro locītavu ietekmējošie faktori. Nodaļā tika noskaidrots, kas ir osteoporoze. Kādas ir normālas temporomandibulārās locītavas struktūras un funkcijas. Tika apskatīti riska faktori osteoporozes attīstībai. Tika pievērsta uzmanība kaulu minerāla blīvumam un kā tas ietekmē osteoporozi.
Literatūras apskatā tika atlasīti 3564 pētījumi. Kā atlases kritēriji tika izmantoti 4 kritēriji: Tika izmantoti raksti, kas bija pieejami angļu valodā, rakstiem bija pieejams pilnais teksts, publikācijas datums 1990.-2023. gads, raksta atbilstība tēmai un atslēgvārdiem. Kopumā no norādītā skaita atlases kritērijus izturēja 20 pētījumi.
Iegūtos pētījumu rezultātus iespējams sagrupēt trijās grupās: osteoporoze ietekmē temporomandibulārās locītavas kaulu blīvumu, osteoporoze neietekmē temporomandibulāro locītavu vai arī nav iegūstamu rezultējošo datu. Trīspadsmit no atlasītajiem pētījumiem apstiprināja osteoporozes ietekmi uz TML veidojošajiem kauliem vai TML funkciju. Piecos pētījumos iegūtie dati noliedza osteoporozes ietekmi uz TML veidojošajiem kauliem vai diagnostikas metodēm. Divos pētījumos nebija pieejami dati, lai izvērtētu osteoporozes ietekmi uz TML kaula struktūrām.
Pētījumā izvirzītā hipotēze apstiprinājās. Indivīdiem ar osteoporozi TML novēro morfoloģiskas, strukturālas un funkcionālas izmaiņas. Izpētot zinātnisko literatūru un pētījumus, kas veikti ar dzīvnieku modeļiem, ie iespējams secināt, ka pastāv saikne starp osteoporozi un TML locītavas struktūras izmaiņām.

Abstract Within the framework of the study, it is planned to analyze previously performed temporomandibular joint research in osteoporosis. According to the data provided by Osteoporosis International, around 200 million patients suffer from osteoporosis in the world. In developed countries, osteoporosis reaches 2%-8% of men and 9%-38% of women. The aim of the study is to clarify the impact of osteoporosis on temporomandibular joint structures and functions by conducting a literature review. The research hypothesized: Morphological, structural and functional changes are observed in the temporomandibular joint in individuals with osteoporosis. Factors affecting osteoporosis and the temporomandibular joint were examined in the study. The chapter clarified what osteoporosis is. What are the normal temporomandibular joint structures and functions. Risk factors for the development of osteoporosis were looked at. The focus was on bone mineral density and how it affects osteoporosis. In the beginning of the literature review 3,564 studies were selected. 4 criteria were used as selection criteria: articles available in English, full texts of articles available, publication date 1990-2023. year, relevance of the article to the topic and keywords. 20 studies met the selection criteria for the number to be specified. The obtained research results can be grouped into three groups: osteoporosis affects the temporomandibular joint, osteoporosis does not affect the temporomandibular joint, or there are no available results. Thirteen of the selected studies confirm the effect of osteoporosis on TMJ-forming bones or TMJ function. Data obtained in five studies denied the effect of osteoporosis on TMJ-forming bones or diagnostic methods. Two studies did not have data available to assess the effect of osteoporosis on TMJ bone structures. The hypothesis of the study was confirmed. Morphological, structural and functional changes are observed in individuals with osteoporosis in TML. A review of the scientific literature and studies in animal models suggests that there is a link between osteoporosis and structural changes in the TM joint.
