Abstract
Tā kā mūsdienās skaistuma ideāls kļūst arvien svarīgāks mūsu sabiedrībā, vēlme pēc labas estētikas kļūst arvien nozīmīgāka. Būtisks faktors šajā ziņā ir smaids. Cilvēki tiecas pēc taisnākiem zobiem un tādējādi uzlabo savu smaidu.
Tomēr daudzi pieaugušie bērnībā nevarēja saņemt ortodontisko ārstēšanu. Līdz ar to lielākā daļa vecāka gadagājuma iedzīvotāju cieš no sliktas zobu estētikas, ko viņi vēlētos uzlabot. Būtisks aspekts, kas viņus attur no ortodontiskās ārstēšanas, cita starpā ir arī tradicionālās ārstēšanas ar metāla breketēm sliktā estētika.
Šī literatūras apskata mērķis ir salīdzināt ārstēšanas efektivitāti ar kapēm salīdzinājumā ar ārstēšanas rezultātiem, izmantojot parastās fiksētās ierīces. Ir jānoraida, ka jaunākā neredzamā alternatīva ir tikpat efektīva kā breketes pat lielās maloklūzijas gadījumos. To lietošana ir ierobežota tikai vieglajos gadījumos, un tāpēc tās faktiski nav efektīva alternatīva. Saistībā ar to tika atklāts, ka izlīdzināšanas sistēma uzlabojas, bet joprojām nav tik efektīva kā breketes.
As nowadays the ideal of beauty becomes more and more crucial in our society, the desire for good aesthetics becomes more important. An essential factor herewith is the smile. People seek straighter teeth and therefore improve their smile. However, many adults couldn’t receive orthodontic treatment during their childhood. Consequently, most of the elderly population suffers from poor dental esthetics, which they would like to improve. A crucial aspect that hinders them from undergoing orthodontic treatment is, among others, the poor esthetics of conventional treatment with metal braces. This literature review aims to compare the efficacy of the treatment with clear aligners in comparison to the treatment outcome with conventional fixed appliances. It is to be rejected that the newer invisible alternative is as efficient as braces even in major malocclusion cases. Their use is limited to only mild cases and therefore does not actually present as an efficient alternative. In connection to that, it was discovered that the system of aligners is improving but is still not as efficient as braces.
