Kopsavilkums
37% Latvijas nodarbināto iedzīvotāju cieš no darba stresa.
Pētnieciskā darba mērķis: Paplašināt zināšanas par stresu un tā izraisītajiem veselības traucējumiem, paplašināt zināšanas par IT jomas aroda un vides riska faktoriem, kā arī izpētīt darba stresa biežumu un tā līmeni IT darbinieku vidū.
Pētnieciskā darba hipotēze: Augsts stresa līmenis IT nozarē ir biežāk sastopams sieviešu dzimumam.
IT nozares darbiniekiem trūkst informācijas par darba stresu. IT nozares darbinieki ir pakļauti darba stresam. IT nozares darbiniekiem stresa līmeni ietekmē darba laikā noteiktais atpūtas laiks un atbalstoša attieksme darba vidē.
Introduction: The 21st century is an era of technological development and the information technology (IT) industry has become very popular among employees, as well as in 2018 it was the second most profitable industry in Latvia. There are various risk factors in the work of IT workers - monotonous, sedentary work and long working hours with a computer. Due to the specifics of their work, IT employees are constantly exposed to physical and mental stress. Stress can cause a variety of health disorders, both physiological and psychological. 37% of the employed population in Latvia suffers from work stress. Aim of the research work: To expand the knowledge about stress and the health disorders caused by it, to expand the knowledge about the occupational and environmental risk factors of the IT field, as well as to study the frequency and level of work stress among IT employees. Research hypothesis: High level of stress in the IT industry is more common for women. A high level of stress depends on the amount of time spent working on the computer - the longer the time spent working with the computer, the higher the level of stress. Materials and methods: The data required for the study were collected by means of questionnaires on the website. The data obtained in the surveys were compiled in Microsoft Excel 2018 and analyzed using mathematical statistical analysis methods in the computer program IBM SPSS Statistics 22. Results: 61.3% of respondents believe that their work is associated with emotional stress. 34,7% of respondents are aware of work stress, its symptoms and prevention at work. Due to work, 80% of respondents have experienced back pain, 70,7% have experienced neck stiffness, 56% have experienced joint pain and 88% have experienced headaches. 57% of respondents have had skin problems due to work, 53,3% have experienced indigestion. 80% of respondents have changed their eating habits and 76% have experienced changes in sleep patterns due to work. According to the results of the PSS10 scale – 69,3% of respondents have a tolerable stress level, 9,3% have a high stress level. Conclusions: Work stress can cause a wide range of health disorders - both physical and psycho-emotional, the effects of which can lead to a deterioration in the quality of work, affect the work environment and organization. IT workers lack information on work-related stress. IT employees are exposed to work stress. In the IT sector, high levels of stress are less common in women than in men, but the difference in frequency is small and a larger number of respondents is needed to prove the hypothesis. In the IT sector, a high level of stress is not associated with the amount of time spent working with a computer, however, a computer is a risk factor for stress, but a larger number of respondents and a more even distribution in groups would be needed to test the hypothesis.
