Pētnieciskais darbs “Neirofilamenta vieglās ķēdes kā biomarķieris diferenciācijai starp centrālu un perifēru demielinizāciju” ir šķērsgriezuma pētījums, kura mērķis ir salīdzināt neirofilamenta vieglo ķēžu koncentrāciju plazmā pacientiem ar autoimūnu demielinizējošu neiropātiju un multiplo sklerozi, lai novērtētu to potenciālu kā biomarķierim, lai atšķirtu centrālu no perifēras demielinizācijas.
Pētījumā tika iekļauti pacienti ar multiplo sklerozi, hronisku iekaisīgu demielinizējošu polineiropātiju un multifokālu motoru neiropātiju, un salīdzināta neirofilamenta vieglo ķēžu koncentrācija pacientu serumā.
Tika secināts, ka neirofilamenta vieglās ķēdes var tikt izmantotas kā ģeneralizēts biomarķieris demielinizējošu slimību diagnostikā, taču tas nav pietiekami specifisks, lai atšķirtu centrālu no perifēras demielinizācijas.

The study included patients with multiple sclerosis, chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy and multifocal motor neuropathy, and compared the concentration of neurofilament light chains in the serum of the patients.
