Kopsavilkums
Respondenti aizpildīja anketu gan rakstiski, gan elektroniski.
The topic of the bachelor's thesis is " Assessment of communication between nurses and patients in the healthcare process". The study was conducted with the aim of exploring nurses' and patients' perspectives on their mutual communication within the healthcare process. The hypothesis put forward in this study states that nurses and patients have differing opinions regarding communication in healthcare. A comparative cross-sectional study was conducted from February to the end of April 2025, with permission obtained from X hospital for the research. A total of 377 respondents participated in the study, including 193 working nurses and 184 patients. The respondents completed the questionnaire both in written and electronic form. The survey consisted of a section on demographic information (gender, age) and 13 questions designed by the author (see appendix 1 and 2). Data was analyzed using the SPSS statistical software. The theoretical part of the thesis discusses the role and importance of communication in healthcare and identifies the main influencing factors and barriers. The empirical part presents the evaluation results of communication quality. Although the overall assessment was positive, patients more frequently reported communication deficiencies compared to nurses. While no statistically significant differences were found between the groups, the perceptual gaps highlight the need for improved communication skills among nurses and enhanced patient involvement. The thesis comprises 48 pages, features 12 tables and 14 figures, cites 37 sources, and includes 3 appendices.
