Kopsavilkums
Maģistra darbā “Senioru dzīves kvalitātes izpēte Ogres novadā pēc administratīvi teritoriālās reformas” aplūkota vecāka gadagājuma cilvēku dzīves kvalitāte, analizējot to no sociālā darba perspektīvas.

The master’s thesis “A Study on the Quality of Life of Seniors in Ogre Municipality Following the Administrative-Territorial Reform” explores the quality of life among the elderly from the perspective of social work. Quality of life is equally important to all individuals. When assessing it, it is essential to understand whether and to what extent people experience a good quality of life. The aim of this research was to examine how the Administrative-Territorial Reform (ATR) has influenced key quality of life indicators for seniors in Ogre municipality – including access to healthcare and social services, social participation, mobility, financial stability, and emotional well-being. A mixed-method approach was used in the study: quantitative data were collected from 416 survey responses, while the qualitative aspect was based on a review of theoretical literature, municipal documents, and semi-structured interviews with social work professionals, general practitioners, and elderly residents. Particular attention was paid to differences between urban and rural populations. The findings reveal that while more than half of the seniors positively assessed the availability of health and social services following the ATR, a significant proportion reported feelings of exclusion, insufficient belonging to the municipality, and difficulties in accessing services, especially in rural areas. The most commonly expressed needs were for local health check-ups, free transportation, domestic support, and greater emotional engagement. The conclusion of the thesis provides specific recommendations for the development of community-based social work – such as enhancing local service mobility, promoting inter-institutional cooperation, and increasing senior involvement in municipal decision-making. The master’s thesis comprises 82 pages, 23 figures, and 3 tables, and references 45 literature sources.
