Abstract
The author of the bachelor Sandra Sala, developed a bachelor's work on the topic "Preschool teachers view about stigmatisation of children with early autism". The study hypothesizes that in the opinion of preschool teachers, there is stigma in society for children with early autism. Supervisor Jelena Kazarinova. The work is a theoretical and practical study in the Latvian language, the structure of which consists of an introduction, two chapters, results and their interpretation, conclusions and suggestions, a list of used literature sources, as well as appendices. The theoretical part provides an idea of the child's mental health and how it works, autistic child, its recognition, diagnostic possibilities and the impact of autism on socialization, stigmatization of a person with mental health problems, as well as stigmatization of a child with autism. In the practical part of the bachelor's work, the author independently developed a questionnaire for pre-school teachers in two neighboring cities of Latvia with the aim to find out the view of preschool teachers about the stigmatization of children with early autism. In the practical part, the results of the questionnaire were summarized and the relevant conclusions were drawn. After compiling the data processed in the survey, the author concluded that 74% of preschool educators who participated in the study believe that there is stigmatization in society with children with early autism. It should be noted that 35% of respondents have experienced stigmatization of a child with early autism in their life and believe that the most common manifestation of stigmatization is in the form of stereotypes and emotional exclusion. Almost half of the respondents, or 40% of the respondents, believe that stigmatization partly occurs in the family itself, but as a source of stigma is still society and more it is supported by adults or all parts of society. The author of the study considered the opinion of the respondents important, in which 60% of the respondents expressed the position that it is possible to reduce stigma in society. As 74% of the respondents in the study admitted that there is stigma in society with children with early autism, the hypothesis put forward by the author of the paper has been confirmed and proved.
