Abstract
Nosaukums: Mioskeletālo sāpju izplatība Rīgas Stradiņa universitātes studiju programmas „Zobārstniecība” studentu vidū
Aktualitāte: Pētījumos tiek norādīts, ka zobārstniecības studenti mioskeletālās sāpes atzīmē jau pirmajā studiju gadā, tomēr izplatība nozīmīgi pieaug pārejas posmā no pre-klīnikas uz klīniku. Līdz šim ir veikti pētījumi saistībā ar mioskeletālām sāpēm zobārstniecības studentiem Eiropā un citās pasaules valstīs, tomēr trūkst datu par zobārstniecības studentiem Latvijā.
Pētnieciskais jautājums: Kāda ir mioskeletālo sāpju izplatība, kuras ir biežāk skartās ķermeņa zonas un kādas ir mioskeletālo sāpju izplatības atšķirības starp dažādiem studiju gadiem Rīgas Stradiņa universitātes studiju programmas “Zobārstniecība” studentiem?
Pētījuma mērķis: Noskaidrot mioskeletālo sāpju izplatību, biežāk skartās ķermeņa zonas un salīdzināt mioskeletālo sāpju izplatību starp dažādiem studiju gadiem studentiem, kuri šobrīd studē Rīgas Stradiņa universitātē studiju programmā “Zobārstniecība” no pirmā līdz piektajam studiju gadam.
Metodes: Pētījumā piedalījās Rīgas Stradiņa universitātes studiju programmas “Zobārstniecība” studenti no pirmā līdz piektajam studiju gadam. Mioskeletālās sāpes tika izvērtētas ar Ziemeļvalstu balsta un kustību sistēmas anketas vispārējo sadaļu.
Rezultāti: Pētījumā piedalījās 78 dalībnieki. 97.4% (N=76) no pētījumā dalībniekiem atzīmēja mioskeletālās sāpes kādā no deviņām ķermeņa zonām. Pēdējo 12 mēnešu laikā un pēdējo septiņu dienu laikā sāpes visbiežāk atzīmēja muguras lejasdaļā (75.6%; 41.6%), mugurkaula kakla daļā (69.2%; 40.3%) un muguras augšdaļā (64.1%; 37.7%). 100% no otrā (N=16), trešā (N=17), ceturtā (N=17), savukārt 93.8% no pirmā (N=15) un 91.7% no piektā (N=11) studiju gada studentiem atzīmē sāpes vienā vai vairākās ķermeņa zonās. Statistiski nozīmīga asociācija starp studiju gadu un mioskeletālo sāpju izplatību bija elkoņos (p=0.019), muguras augšdaļā (p=0.004), ceļos (p=0.016).
Secinājumi: Gandrīz visiem pētījuma dalībniekiem ir mioskeletālās sāpes. Biežāk skartās mioskeletālo sāpju zonas zobārstniecības studentiem ir muguras lejasdaļa, mugurkaula kakla daļa, muguras augšdaļa. Mioskeletālās sāpes biežāk atzīmē otrā, trešā un ceturtā studiju gada zobārstniecības studenti. Nav nozīmīgs mioskeletālo sāpju pieaugums zobārstniecības studentiem, mācoties augstākā studiju gadā

Title: Prevalence of musculoskeletal pain among students of the Dentistry program at Riga Stradins University. Background: Studies indicate that dentistry students experience musculoskeletal pain from the first year of study, however, the prevalence increases significantly during the transition from pre-clinic to clinic. Studies has been conducted regarding musculoskeletal pain among dentistry students in Europe and other countries worldwide, however, there is a lack of data on dentistry students in Latvia. Research question: What is the prevalence of musculoskeletal pain, which are the most frequently affected areas of the body and what are the differences in the prevalence of musculoskeletal pain across different years among students of the Dentistry program at Riga Stradins University? Aim: Determine the prevalence of musculoskeletal pain, the most frequently affected areas of the body, and compare the prevalence of musculoskeletal pain across different years among students of the Dentistry program at Riga Stradins University. Methods: Students of the Dentistry program at Riga Stradins University participated in the study from the first to the fifth years. Musculoskeletal pain was assessed using the general section of the Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire. Results: 78 students participated in this study. 97.4% (N=76) reported musculoskeletal pain in one of the nine regions of the body. In the last 12 months and seven days, pain was most often noted in the lower back (75.6%; 41.6%), neck (69.2%; 40.3%), upper back (64.1%; 37.7%). 100% of second (N=16), third (N=17), fourth (N=17), while 93.8% of first (N=15) and 91.7% of fifth (N=11) year noted pain in one or more areas of body. There was a statistically significant association between the year of study and the prevalence of musculoskeletal pain in elbows (p=0.019), upper back (p=0.004), and knees (p=0.016). Conclusions: Almost all study participants have musculoskeletal pain. The most frequently affected areas of musculoskeletal pain in dental students are lower back, neck, upper back. Musculoskeletal pain is more often noted by second, third and fourth year dental students. The prevalence of musculoskeletal pain among the dentistry students did not increase significantly studying in the higher year of study.
