Kopsavilkums

Bakalaura darba apjoms. 50 lapas, 6 tabulas, 11 attēli.
Bachelor's thesis topic: ‘‘Assessment of stress symptoms and influencing factors in patients with peripheral vascular disorders in the perioperative period’’. The topic is relevant, because under the influence of modern lifestyle and the aging of society, the number of patients with peripheral vascular disorders continues to grow. Most often, treatment involves surgical intervention, which often causes psychological discomfort, including increased stress symptoms. The aim of the study: To clarify and compare the assessment of stress symptoms and their influencing factors in patients with peripheral vascular disorders, men and women, in the perioperative period. Research hypothesis: The assessment of stress symptoms and their influencing factors in patients with peripheral vascular disorders, men and women, in the perioperative period differ. Research method: A quasi-experimental, cross-sectional comparative study conducted from February 3 to March 31, 2025. The participants of the study were 102 patients with peripheral vascular disorders in the perioperative period. Research instruments: Stress symptom scale and a questionnaire developed by the author of the study. Research results: There are statistically significant differences in the level of stress symptomatology of men and women both in the period before (p < 0.001) and in the period after surgery (p = 0.022). In the preoperative period, stress symptomatology indicators were mainly 50,9% of men indicated a medium-low level, while 44,2% of women indicated a medium-high level. In the postoperative period, stress symptomatology indicators most often corresponded to a medium-low level. In the male group, 66,1%, but in the female group, 83,7%. Conclusions: The level of stress symptomatology of patients with peripheral vascular disorders, women, is higher in percentage than in patients, men, but the factors influencing the symptomatology are the same: in the preoperative period, it is fear of postoperative complications and pain, but in the postoperative period, fear of future quality of life and work ability. The hypothesis put forward in the course of the study is partially confirmed. Scope of the bachelor's thesis. 50 pages, 6 tables, 11 figures.
