Darba nosaukums:
Preparation of foot and ankle assessment questionnaire for usage in Latvian: translation and psychometric property evaluation. Background: Foot and foot ligament injuries account for more than 3 million visits to the emergency rooms in the United States of America. These kinds of injuries can become causes of various health conditions and disabilities among both athletes and the general population. Previous research has proven that Foot and Ankle Ability Measure (FAAM) is a reliable tool for assessment of foot and ankle pathologies with good validity and responsiveness. There’s also additional proof that confirms validity of FAAM structure used for chronic ankle instability (Saarinen et.al. 2022), improving on quality of previous assessment and treatment. Methods: The study design is a quantitative cross-sectional study where the participants were selected with the principle of convenience. Study participants had to fill out the FAAM assessment form twice, with an interval of two to four weeks between them. The collected data was processed using descriptive and inferential statistical methods. Results: The study data shows that the Latvian version of the FAAM assessment scale has excellent internal consistency(α=0,994) and reliability (ICC=0,974), confirming the questionnaire’s psychometric soundness. Conclusions: The adaptation of the FAAM questionnaire into Latvian was successful, following the guidelines of the International Test Commission. Data shows that the survey's inner consistency was excellent, and reliability was as well. It can be used in further research and clinical practice assessing patients with foot and ankle musculoskeletal disorders.
