Kopsavilkums
The aim of the research was to check if there is any negative influence of plant-based diet on the breastfeeding experience of mothers all over the world. Two methods were used for this thesis that is data collection and literature review. This is a cross-sectional study with 50 participants from all over the world. We compared mainly two diet groups that is omnivorous diet and plant-based diet (vegans and vegetarians) on different aspects of breastfeeding that is initiation of breastfeeding, length of exclusive breastfeeding, breastfeeding frequency at two times (first week post-partum and third month post-partum), complications in breastfeeding and cessation of breastfeeding. At the end of our study, we found that there is no specific difference in breastfeeding experience in mothers who follow different diets. We also included recommendations for better maternal and infant health such as education of mothers on different diets and supplementation of nutrients when the diet lacks it and encouraging healthy lifestyle among overweight and obese women. We concluded that plant-based diet does not have a negative influence on breastfeeding experience.
