Factors Influencing Care in Latvian and Other European Countries

Abstract

Šī pētījuma mērķis bija veikt sistemātisku literatūras apskatu, pētot mātes un perinatālās veselības riska faktorus un noteikt galvenās atšķirības starp Latviju un Zviedriju gan spēju, gan ekonomikas, attieksmju un sociālo faktoru ziņā. Lai šis pētījums būtu visaptverošs, tas bija jāsašaurina un jākoncentrē, lai izceltu dažas, bet ne visas no šīm atšķirībām, lai varētu šaurāk izpētīt galvenos punktus. Šī pētījuma nolūkos es izvēlējos koncentrēties uz šādiem faktoriem, kas saistīti ar seksuālo un mātes veselību: seksuālā izglītība un aprūpe pirms ieņemšanas, joda deficīts, kontracepcija un grūtniecības plānošana, aborti un neplānota grūtniecība, vielu lietošana, smēķēšana, aptaukošanās un diabēts.A systematic literature review investigating risk factors on maternal and perinatal health and preconception care to determine the main differences between Latvia and Sweden as in terms of capabilities, economy, attitudes and social factors. To make this research comprehensive it had to be narrowed down and focused to highlight a few but not all of these risk factors and differences, to be able to more narrowly investigate key points. For the purpose of this study I chose to focus on the following factors associated with sexual and maternal health: sexual education and preconception care, iodine deficiency, pregnancy planning and contraception, unplanned pregnancy and abortion, substance abuse and smoking, obesity, diabetes and hypertension.
