The qualification thesis "The Study of Explosive Strength Development and Skating Push-Off Technique Acquisition in 13–14-Year-Old Trainees of the Sports Association Talsi Hockey Club in the Hockey Training Process" analyzes the importance of explosive strength and skating push-off biomechanics in youth hockey. The introduction of the work emphasizes that hockey is a "dynamic and high-intensity team sport," in which the player's ability to start movement quickly, accelerate, and maintain stability is essential. At the U14 age, there is intensive development of the neuromuscular system, therefore the improvement of explosive strength and biomechanically correct technique is particularly important. The first chapter describes the activities, history, and legal basis of Talsi Hockey Club. The organization has been operating since 1989 and is one of the most significant youth hockey centers in Kurzeme. The work notes that the club "has always emphasized sustainable athlete development rather than short-term results," which aligns with the LTAD model. The principles of safety, hygiene, and child protection that ensure an organized and safe training environment are described in detail. The second chapter analyzes special physical characteristics and methods of developing explosive strength. Explosive strength is defined as the ability to “develop maximal force output in a short period of time,” which directly affects the first skating step and acceleration. For U14 athletes, the priority is the quality of movement, coordination, and biomechanically correct execution, rather than maximal loads. The Squat Jump test is used to control explosive strength, allowing the assessment of the speed of force development and muscle power. The third chapter examines the biomechanics of the skating push-off. The work emphasizes that the first step is “one of the most important technical elements in hockey.” Video analysis determined knee joint angles in various push-off phases (93.7°, 100.8°, 116°), which correspond to the effective acceleration technique described in the literature. The analysis showed that athletes with higher explosive strength indicators have more effective push-off biomechanics and a longer glide distance. In the fourth chapter, a yearly, weekly, and training plan was developed, which includes the development of explosive strength, coordination tasks, video analysis, and biomechanical correction. The periodization is based on the principles of gradual progression and load dosage. At the conclusion of the work, the author concludes that the development of explosive strength and biomechanically correct skating technique are closely interrelated and significantly affect the athletic performance of U14 hockey players. The practical study has allowed for the development of recommendations for improving the training process, particularly regarding movement quality, coordination, and first-step biomechanics.lv-LVinfo:eu-repo/semantics/restrictedAccessHokejseksplozīvais spēksslidošanas atspēriena solisfiziskā sagatavotībaTalsu hokeja klubsU14Hockeyexplosive powerskating push-off stepphysical fitnessTalsi Hockey ClubU14Biedrības Sporta biedrība "Talsu hokeja klubs" 13-14 gadus vecu audzēkņu eksplozīvā spēka attīstīšanas un slidošanas atspēriena soļa apguves izpēte hokeja treniņu procesāDevelopment of Explosive Strength in 13-14 Year-Old Trainees of the Sports Association "Talsi Hockey Club" and Study of the Skating Push-off Step in the Hockey Training Processinfo:eu-repo/semantics/other
