Čūsku indes izmantošanas iespējas mūsdienu medicīnā

Abstract

Pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot čūsku indes pielietojuma veidus mūsdienu medicīnā un tās potenciālās izmantošanas iespējas nākotnē. Čūsku indes ķīmiskajam sastāvam piemīt daudzpusīgas farmakoloģiskās īpašības, kuras arvien vairāk piesaista pētnieku interesi. Ir izpētīta tikai neliela daļa no indes īpašībām, bet līdz šim izpētītais norāda, cik dažādi to būtu iespējams pielietot mūsdienu medicīnā – tajā skaitā kardiovaskulāru slimību ārstēšanai un profilaksei, antimikrobiālā terapijā, vēža terapijā un ārstēšanā, sāpju un iekaisuma mazināšanā, COVID-19 izraisītu simptomu un seku novēršanai un mazināšanai, un citur. No čūsku indes ir atvasināti vairāki medikamenti, kuri tiek lietoti mūsdienu medicīnā, un aktīvi tiek pētītas jaunas aktīvās vielas no kurām dažas ir klīnisko pētījumu fāzēs.

The aim of the study “Possibilities of using snake venom in modern medicine” was to find out the types of use of snake venom in modern medicine and its potential use in the future. The chemical composition of snake venom has versatile pharmacological properties that are of increasing interest to researchers. Only a small part of the properties of the venom have been studied, but what has been studied so far indicates how it could be used in modern medicine, including the treatment and prevention of cardiovascular diseases, antimicrobial therapy, cancer therapy and treatment, reduction of pain and inflammation, prevention and reduction of symptoms and consequences of COVID-19, etc. Several drugs have been derived from snake venom that are used in modern medicine, and new active substances are being actively researched, some of them being studied in clinical trials.
