Abstract: | Kaulu transplantācijas operāciju bieži ir nepieciešamas, lai atrofētais alveolārais kauls nodrošinātu pietiekamu kaulu apjomu zobu implantu ievietošanai. Bone augmentation procedures are often necessary for the atrophied alveolar bone to provide enough bone volume for the placement of dental implants. Among the available grafting materials is autogenous bone considered the most favourable due to its biological properties. Nevertheless, autogenous bone grafts are also associated with donor site morbidities. This systemic review will compare the donor site morbidities of the mandibular symphysis and the mandibular ramus. Different online databases have been searched to collect relevant literature on this topic. Donor site morbidities of the mandibular ramus include temporary trismus and perioperative bleeding. While the mandibular symphysis is associated with higher risk for neurosensory disturbances as well as the increased necessity for root canal treatment of neighbouring teeth to the donor site. |
