Abstract: Pulpas reģenerācijas idejas pēc būtības ir radušās 20 gs. otrajā pusē, taču strauju attīstību piedzīvo tikai pēdējos 20 gadus.
Idea about possible pulp regeneration is coming from second half of 20th century. However these ideas saw rapid development in only last 20 years. With advancing stem cell technology and capability of producing modern biomaterials to act as scaffold for newly generated tissue endodontists have put forward new strategies of achieving functional pulp-dentin complex regeneration. Existing methods are mostly aimed at young people with secondary dentition that has incompletely developed roots. However, new perspective methods of stem cell transplantation are giving hope that regenerative endodontics could also be applicable to secondary dentition with completely formed roots to retain/renew tooth vitality.
