The aim of the study was to explore and describe the interrelationships between Covid 19 health behaviors of different groups in society, as well as the readiness to continue such behaviors and the psychological factors / mechanisms that determine health behaviors, and to make recommendations for improving health communication based on effective interventions. (or mechanisms of action) based on research evidence. Master's thesis hypotheses How do the respondents describe their COVID-19-related health behavior, the factors or barriers that promote and hinder it, the COVID-19 threat (or risk of becoming ill), the knowledge, skills, and COVID-19-related emotions required to implement the behavior? (Qualitative research question.) What are the correlations between COVID VU and psychological factors / mechanisms of action for respondents from different socio-demographic groups? (Question of quantitative research.) What evidence-based effective communication methods could be used to promote COVID VUs? (Theoretical research question.) The results of the quantitative and qualitative study suggest that the most significant effects on health behavior associated with COVID-19, including the acquisition and consumption of information, are perceived susceptibility to disease and perceived disease severity, as confirmed by both qualitative study interviews and that respondents with poorer self-esteem, as well as those worried, form a subset of respondents with better knowledge of COVID, greater trust in physicians and experts, more behavior in line with recommendations and greater willingness to follow recommended COVID safety measures. The study also found that behavioral stimuli have a significant effect. These are HBM factors that need to be addressed when developing communication plans and interventions to curb COVID-19. |
