Abstract
Bakalaura darbs “Džeinas Ostinas “Lepnums un aizspriedumi” salīdzinājums ar trīs romāna ekranizācijām” ir veikts, lai noskaidrotu, kādā veidā, pamatojoties uz oriģinālo literatūru, dažādu laiku režisori spēja interpretēt un pielāgot vienu un to pašu vielu, jeb materiālu savā unikālajā stilā, atkarīgi no tehnoloģiju attīstīšanās, to laiku kulturāliem uzskatiem, normām, modi un morāli. Kā atšķiras Džeinas Ostinas romāna ekranizācijas savā starpā, kā tika vērsts un veidots ekranizāciju naratīvs, un ar ko ir atšķirīgs katras filmas izveidotais vizuālais stils un identitāte. Pamatojoties uz adaptācijas teoriju un gūtām zināšanām “Multimediju komunikācijas” Rīgas Stradiņa universitātes programmas ietvaros, tika izveidota teorētiskā bāze, kura izskaidro literatūras ekranizāciju izveides procesu, ekranizācijās atrastos zīmju kodu (saistītu ar romānu, kā arī ar režisoru autorstilu) atšifrējums, izmantoto kameru leņķu skaidrošanu, krāsu paletes izpēti un tā tālāk. Tika veikta Džeinas Ostinas romāna analīze, kura sniedz bāzi naratīva izpētei, kā arī palīdz izsekot ekranizāciju sižetus un veikt detalizētu pētījumu. Praktiskā bakalaura darba daļa sastāv no visu trīs romāna ekranizāciju analīzēm, kuras iedalās divās kategorijās, naratīva un stila analīzē, kā arī no ekranizāciju salīdzināšanas savā starpā, un ar oriģinālo literatūru. Tika arī veikta atsevišķa detalizēta analīze kopīgajai stāsta epizodei, kura piemīt katrā ekranizācijā. Darba secinājumos tiek sniegta atbilde uz darba jautājumu, kā arī veiktā pētījuma rezultāta apraksts un novērojumi.
The bachelor’s thesis "Comparison of Jane Austen’s ‘Pride and Prejudice' with Three Film Adaptations" is conducted to determine how, based on the original literature, directors from various eras were able to interpret and adapt the same material in their unique styles, depending on the development of technology, cultural beliefs, norms, fashion, and morality of their times. It examines how Jane Austen's novel adaptations differ from each other, how the narrative of the adaptations was directed and created, and what makes the visual style and identity of each film different. Based on adaptation theory and knowledge acquired in the "Multimedia Communication" program at Riga Stradiņš University, a theoretical foundation was established that explains the process of creating literary adaptations, decoding of sign codes found in adaptations (related to the novel as well as to the director's authorial style), clarification of used camera angles, exploration of colour palettes, and so on. An analysis of Jane Austen's novel was conducted, providing a basis for narrative study, and assisting in tracing the plots of the adaptations and conducting a detailed investigation. The paper analyses all three film adaptations, dividing the analysis into two categories: narrative and style analysis. The practical part of the bachelor's thesis consists of analyses of all three adaptations of the novel, which fall into two categories, analysis of narrative and style, as well as comparison of films with each other, and with the original literature. There was also a separate detailed analysis of the common story episode, which is present in each screening. The conclusions of the work give an answer to the working question, as well as a description and observations of the result of the conducted research.
