Abstract
Radošais bakalaura darbs “Izārstēts no vēža.
The creative bachelor’s thesis “Cured from the cancer. A series of digital stories about the experience of the oncology patients” has been created to summarize in digital stories memories and insights of persons, who have endured cancer, about the start of the disease, course of treatment and victory over the cancer. To create digital stories, the stories in their classic form are accompanied with the basic elements of digital stories - photographs and story summaries in audio format, hence making them more engaging to the target audience. The bachelor's thesis consists of two parts - theoretical and creative work concept parts. The theoretical part deals with health journalism as a sub-branch of journalism, the necessity and development of digital stories, as well as narrative or narrative journalism. Based on the findings of the theoretical part of the bachelor’s thesis, the creative work development process, the chosen methods and their substantiation are well-thought-out in the creative work concept part. Creative work includes the creation of digital stories and the Internet platform www.izarstetsnoveza.lv. The bachelor’s thesis describes the process of creating digital stories, issues, which have to be solved and the insights gained by creating content that is appealing to the audience. Likewise, in the creative work concept part of the bachelor’s thesis, the principles, technical justification, as well as design and aesthetic arrangement of the Internet platform www.izarstetsnoveza.lv are considered. By considering theory of the researched field and its application in practice, the author of the work has come to several conclusions. At the end of the bachelor’s thesis, the author has revealed the insights of patients diagnosed with cancer, current issues in oncology and how to create information about oncological diseases more appealing to the audience.
