Abstract
Nosaukums. Līdzsvara un ķermeņa stabilitātes vingrinājumu efektivitāte līdzsvara uzlabošanā jauniešu deju kolektīva dalībniekiem vecumā no 16-24 gadiem.
Pamatojums.
Metodes.

Title. Effectiveness of balance and core stability exercises in improving the balance for members of the youth dance group aged 16-24. Background. Latvian folk and stage dance is one of the most popular types of amateur movement in Latvia. As this type of dance is strictly based on the basic principles of classical dance, a very important component to accurately perform the choreography is the ability to maintain balance when performing complex movements. Objective. The purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of classical balance exercises and core (lumbar and pelvic) stability exercises in improving balance for members of the youth dance group aged 16-24. Methods. A quantitative experimental study was performed. A total of 30 participants (men and women) participated in the study, which were divided into 3 study groups: balance (n=10), core stability (n=10) and control group (n=10). The tools used in the study were the Demographic Data Questionnaire and the Multiple Single Leg Hop-Stabilization Test. Results. Analyzing the results of the multiple single-leg hop-stabilization test in the balance group, the initial average score for the right leg was 38 (IQR = 48-24) and the left leg - 42 (IQR = 53-31). In the core stability group, the initial mean score for the right leg test was 44 (IQR = 51-31) and for the left was 46 (IQR = 53-34). In the control group, the initial score for the right leg test was 33 (IQR = 52-22) and for the left leg was 41 (IQR = 61-29). After the intervention, the balance group score was 30 for the right leg (IQR = 40-21) and 30 for the left leg (IQR = 34-23); in the core stability group, the score for the right leg was 36 (IQR = 45-22) and for the left leg was 40 (IQR = 47-36), while in the control group, the score for the right leg was 30 (IQR = 40-21) and the left leg was 39 ( IQR = 54-25). Conclusions. All study groups showed improvements in balance at the end of the study, however, only the balance group in the study had a statistically significant improvement in balance. The balance training program proved to be more effective than the core stability program in improving the balance for young dancers aged 16-24. Key words. Balance, balance assessment, core stability, dancers, training.
