Abstract
Bakalaura darba autors: Nikola Kuzmina
Bakalaura darba zinātniskais vadītājs: Doc. Dr. pead. Alnis Stakle

Alnis Stakle Bachelor’s thesis title: Fashion photoshoot for retro clothing store “Humana Vintage” The work explores fashion photography in the 21st century as it is one of those directions that is not only able to tell about cultural ideologies, values and tastes but is also one of the most important elements in the economic and social field. Both fashion and photography as separate elements have envolved in recent years, and the digital environment also plays a major role nowadays. With its help this direction has become more accessible to modern society, as well as their interpretations are becoming more diverse. The involvement of models is also important in the fashion photography. Models are people who are professionally able to sell a product by working with their body. Each position which is shown in photography has non-verbal characterization, which is also important in the process of creating and composing a photograph – with it is possible to achieve the desired atmosphere and intended emotions in photography. Visual culture, which is faced by every individual on a daily basis, also plays an important role in this work. As we moved from the written to the visual culture, there is an increasing sense of distrust in the society towards media. The most important problem that society is trying to understand in relation to visual culture is whether it is artificially (with the help of technology) reproduced in order to gain “collective” trust. The contribution of different authors or photographers to fashion photography is important, because the creative approach is very subjective, but it is also the main value of the end result. In this work there were analyzed 3 fashion photography specialists who have different approaches in this direction and who invest a lot in their work to tell potential customers a story, show emotions and most importantly – sell a product. The final product of this work is a fashion photo series consisting of 16 photos. It involves 2 models, as well the main attention in photos are paid to the clothing collection which is vintage and modern style, and also location – urban environment.
