Abstract
Congenital lung malformations (CLM) are a heterogenous group of rare disorders affecting the fetal lung. Over the past decades, advances in the management during antenatal period have been made, which changed both the diagnostic and treatment approach of CLMs. Fetal surgery has opened up new possibilities in the fetal management of congenital malformations. At the same time it is still a new field of surgery and presents with challenges and risks for both mother and fetus. The aim of this literature review is to provide an overview of the diagnosis, prognosis and surgical treatment opportunities in different congenital lung malformations and the benefits and limitations of these procedures. To achieve this, different scientific databases including PubMed, Elsevier and ScienceDirect were utilized for the search of corresponding articles.
