Abstract

For too long now there has been a lack of gold standard studies with applicable and strong evidence related to risks during pregnancy in women with epilepsy (WWE). Care taking of these women includes addressing several issues such as the risks associated with perinatal complications, teratogenicity of antiepileptic drugs (AED), and alterations in the frequency of epileptic seizures. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the results of several different studies with findings that possibly enable making confident decisions and recommendations during these precarious periods in WWE.
