Abstract
Pētnieciskais darbs „Aptiekas dermokosmētisko līdzekļu taukainai un akne skartai ādai sastāva pārskats, to efektivitātes novērtējums sabiedrībā” izstrādāts no 2019. gada septembra līdz 2020. gada martam RSU, Farmācijas fakultātē, Zāļu formu tehnoloģijas katedrā.
Ievads: Acne vulgaris skar aptuveni 85% jauno cilvēku vecumā no 12 – 25 gadiem.
Thesis “Overview of the Dermocosmetic Product Components Available in Pharmacy for Oily and Acne Prone Skin, Advancement of their Effectiveness on the Users” was established in RSU, Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Dosage Form Technology during 09.2019 – 03.2020. Introduction: Acne vulgaris affects about 85% of young people (age of 12 and 25). The Latvian Association of Dermatovenereologists confirms the dermocosmetic products (DP) available in pharmacies as part of the treatment of acne. Finding out the functions of DP active substances, their compliance with doctor's recommendations, it could also improve the choice of suitable DP. Aim of the research work: To find out the anti-acne functions of the dermocosmetic product components available in Latvian pharmacies for the care of oily, acne-affected skin, as well as the evaluation of the effectiveness of these products in society. Material and Methods: The literature review collected information on the anti-acne DP components. 10 DP companies available in Latvian pharmacies were selected, all products of these companies that are intended for the care of oily, acne-affected skin were found and their components were analyzed - the components of each product with scientifically proven anti-acne efficacy were identified. A questionnaire was developed and a quantitative anonymous survey was conducted at the pharmacy and website between 02.11.2019 and 01.03.2020, involving people with hyperseborrhoea, acne symptoms. Data were processed in MS Excel, IMB SPSS. Results: 19 active components were found in DP. Among them, 9 have an effect on skin keratinization, 5 - on sebor regulation, 6 - on inflammatory processes, 5 - on P. acnes colonization (the component can have several functions). Of the 72 DPs studied, 11 had components with an effect on all acne pathogenic factors, 4 did not contain any anti-acne components, and 57 lacked one or more anti-acne mechanisms. On average, 65.9% of the respondents admit that they felt an improvement or complete disappearance of symptoms after using the DP. DP with all anti-acne mechanisms was positively assessed by 85.8% (DP for daily skin care) and 31.0% (DP for skin moisturizing) of respondents. Conclusion: The most common in DP are keratolytic components. Most users admit that pharmacy DP help to improve the acne prone skin condition, regardless of the severity of the disease or anti-acne medication. DPs for daily skin care with a wider spectrum of anti-acne effects and DP for moisturizing skin with a narrower spectrum of anti-acne effects have been rated better.
