Abstract
Bakalaura darbs sastāv no 60 lapām, iekļaujot 3 tabulas.
Bachelor's thesis topic: “Signs of populism in the pre-election programs of the parties and party associations elected in the 13th and 14th Saeima (comparative analysis)”. The relevance of the research topic is determined by the growing popularity of such a phenomenon as populism and its significant impact on contemporary political processes. Politicians are increasingly using populist rhetoric to gain voter support, which also affects public opinion and elections. Therefore, the analysis of the election programs of the parties elected to the 13th and 14th Saeima allows us to understand whether the parties use populism, and to find out whether the populist rhetoric helps to gain voters' support in the long term. The theoretical part of the study consists of the analysis of the literature on the concept of “populism”, its definition, the study of the historical development of populism and the identification of the main features of populism. In the analytical part, searching for signs of populism, all pre-election programs of the parties that entered the 13th and 14th Saeima were studied. All features found were listed and described. The obtained results were analyzed. Based on the obtained results, it was concluded that populism helps political forces to be elected to the Seimas, but does not provide long-term voter support. The hypothesis put forward by the work was confirmed. The bachelor's thesis consists of 60 pages, including 3 tables.
