Abstract
The topic of Bachelor’s thesis is “Introduction of Sustainable Solutions for Household Chemicals Companies in Latvia”. Careful treatment of the World we live in, keeping it as intact as possible for future generations, has become a cornerstone of sustainable development. As household chemicals companies spend large amounts of resources during the production and distribution process, special attention is now being paid to solutions aimed at promoting sustainability. The aim of the research is, based on the findings of theory and scientific literature and the analysis of the practical situation, to study the use of sustainable solutions and the possibilities of their improvement in household chemical companies in Latvia. Four research methods are used in the work - monographic method, comparative analysis, analysis of secondary data and qualitative method-expert interviews. The main conclusions define that the number of sustainable solutions introduced in the Latvian market of household chemical products, such as natural ingredients, eco-labels and sustainable packaging, continue to increase. Opportunities for improving sustainable solutions in household chemical companies in Latvia can be divided into 4 development directions: labelling, packaging, costs and raising awareness of sustainability as part of the core business activity. The proposals are mainly addressed to household chemical manufacturers, such as the adoption of an embedded sustainability model, the replacement of the assortment with more sustainable products and the introduction of new sustainable solutions for household chemicals packaging. The thesis is written on 61 pages, it includes 6 tables and 15 figures. The total number of used sources and literature is 42. The work has 5 appendices.
