Abstract
Darbs sastāv no trīs nodaļām:
• I nodaļā apkopota informāciju par neoreālisma teoriju un ārpolitiskajām interesēm caur
neoreālisma perspektīvas;
• II nodaļā analizētas Apvienoto Arābu Emirātu norises Klimata pārmaiņu politikā un kādas
ir Apvienoto Arābu Emirātu ārpolitiskās intereses īstenojot Klimata pārmaiņu politiku;
The title of the bachelor's thesis is "Climate Change and Foreign Policy Interests: A Case Study of the United Arab Emirates". In the early 1930s, the first teams of oil companies conducted geological surveys in the United Arab Emirates. Thirty years later, in 1962, the first shipment of crude oil was exported from Abu Dhabi. Thus, the economy of the United Arab Emirates began to develop steadily, until today it has become the country's most important foreign and domestic policy interest. Oil extraction and the myriad industries in the United Arab Emirates are causing significant damage to the climate. Today, when the issue of climate change is at stake, the United Arab Emirates is committed to demonstrating its capacity to improve its climate policy and create positive climate change. The United Arab Emirates is actively involved in the various climate change activities and regulations adopted by the organizations, but through its climate change policy, the United Arab Emirates sees a great opportunity for new business, thus creating new jobs and further developing the country's economy. Climate change policy is closely linked to the foreign policy of the United Arab Emirates, in that it is linked to attracting investment, to the operation of embassies, the climate comes into the daily life of foreign policy and is present. Bachelor's Thesis: The issue of climate change serves the economic interests of the United Arab Emirates' foreign policy. In order to test the hypothesis put forward, an analysis of the United Arab Emirates' foreign policy interests and climate change policy was performed. The work consists of three chapters: • Chapter I summarizes information on neorealist theory and foreign policy interests through neo-realist perspectives; • Chapter II analyzes developments in the United Arab Emirates on climate change policy and the foreign policy interests of the United Arab Emirates in implementing climate change policy; • Chapter III examines how climate change policy works as a tool for the development of economic interests in the United Arab Emirates. Parallel economic development is an important condition for the implementation of climate policy, which is also expressed in the announcements of the official website of the United Arab Emirates and in reports from the UN Climate Change Summits. The United Arab Emirates aims to increase its global competitiveness by increasing the share of renewable, clean and alternative energy sources in the country's total energy mix.
