Abstract
Darba uzdevumi:
• Noskaidrot, ko uzskata par estētiku zobārstniecībā;
• Noskaidrot ar kādiem standartizētiem parametriem tiek raksturota zobu un sejas estētika zobārstniecībā un kuri no šiem faktoriem ir svarīgākie, lai sasniegtu maksimāli labāko rezultātu;
• Noskaidrot vai ir iespējams sasniegt sejas un smaida harmoniju pat, ja pacients neatbilst visiem standartizētajiem estētikas parametriem;
In the past, dentistry were associated with a scary office, a drill and severe pain that deterred patients from turning to the dentist. Many people still have such associations. However, modern equipment, analgesia is available today, which makes visits more enjoyable and less painful for patients. Dental care includes not only dental treatment, but also improving the patient’s smile. A smile is one of the first thing people notice when they look at other people, and it has a significant effect on facial beauty (Silva et al, 2019). The task of a dentist is to give reasonable recommendations to the patient and to provide a result that suits the patient’s face, personality, in order to create as much harmony as possible when looking at the person as a whole. It must be taken into account that each one is unique and different, so the dentist must also find and individual approach and perspective for each patient. To make the job for the dentist a little easier, different facial and dental properties, art and different proportions have long been discussed, giving common “guidlines” on how best to restore person’s teeth according to the shape, color, and proportions of the patient’s face. Over time, these “guidlines” are supplemented and changed, as are perceptions of beauty and the goals of the outcome. The symmetry between the face and smile is considered to be the main goal of aesthetic dentistry (Silva et al, 2019). The aim of this work is to study and evaluate the different features and characteristics of the face and smile in order to be able to harmonize them, creating a harmonious and naturally aesthetic overall look of the face and smile. Tasks: • Find out what is considered as aesthetics in dentistry; • Find out what standardized parameters characterize dental and facial aesthetics in dentistry and which of these factors are the most important to achieve the best results; • Find out is it possible to achieve harmony of face and smile even if the patient does not have all the standardized aesthetic parameters; • To compare the aesthetics of the patient’s face and teeth before and after anterior tooth restorations. Hypothesis: In order to achieve harmony of the face and smile during aesthetic restorations of teeth, not all characteristic parameters need to comply with standardized parameters.
