Abstract
Viltus ziņas un dezinformācija pēdējo gadu laikā ir kļuvusi par ikdienišķu sastāvdaļu publiskajā telpā. Dezinformācijas apkarošanā iesaistās virkne dažādu jomu profesionāļu, taču lielākā loma ir pētnieciskajiem žurnālistiem un faktu pārbaudītājiem. Covid-19 pandēmiju saistītā dezinformācija ir bijis iepriekš nepieredzēts fenomens, kas prasījis intensīvāku stratēgiju tās apkarošanā, tāpēc mediji savā ikdienas darbā aizvien vairāk integrē pētniecisko žurnālistiku un faktu pārbaudi, kā arī ir izveidojuši lokālas un starptautiskas apvienības, lai šo globālo problēmu risinātu kopīgiem spēkiem. Viena no tādām ir “POYNTER” institūta Starptautiskais faktu pārbaudes tīkls (International Fact-Checking Network), kura paspārnē tika izveidots “CoronaVirusFacts Alliance”, kas apvieno vairāk kā 100 pētnieciskās žurnālistikas medijus un organizācijas visā pasaulē. Šī tīkla dalībnieki ir arī mediji no Baltijas valstīm Re:Baltica / Re:Check (Latvija), “15min.lt” (Lietuva) un “DELFI” / “Melo Detektorius” (Lietuva). Bakalaura darbā tiek apskatīta Baltijas valstu pētniecisko žurnālistu un faktu pārbaudītāju pieredze, esot šī tīkla dalībniekiem, un tiek izvērtēts, vai “POYNTER” institūta Starptautiskais faktu pārbaudes tīkls var būt kā starptautiskās sadarbības paraugprojekts Latvijas medijiem. Pētnieciskā žurnālistika ir resursu ziņā dārgs un laikietilpīgs process, tāpēc starptautiskā sadarbība dod iespēju strādāt, ieekonomējot resursus. Starptautiskā sadarbība var nodrošināt arī vienlīdzību informācijas apjomā un saturā dažādās pasaules vietās. Tā ir iespēja pētnieciskajiem žurnālistiem un organizācijām saņemt un dot savu ieguldījumu cīņai pret Covid-19 dezinformāciju.
Fake news have become a component of daily information flow in recent years. A number of professionals in various fields are involved in combating misinformation. Investigative journalists and fact-checkers play a major role here. The disinformation during Covid-19 pandemic has been an unprecedented phenomenon that has required an specific strategy to combat it. Leading media organizations have increasingly integrated investigative journalism and fact-checking into its daily work. Many professionals in the field have united in local and international organizations to fight misinformation. One of these is ‘CoronaVirusFacts Alliance’ led by the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) at the Poynter Institute. The alliance unites more than 100 fact checkers around the world in publishing, sharing, and translating facts surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. The members of IFCN are also the media from the Baltic States ‘Re: Baltica’ / ‘Re: Check’ (Latvia), ‘15min.lt’ (Lithuania) and ‘DELFI’ / ‘Melo Detektorius’ (Lithuania). The bachelor's thesis examines the experience of investigative journalists and fact-checkers in the Baltic States as members of IFCN and evaluates whether this network can be a model project for international cooperation for the Latvian media. Investigative journalism is a labor-intensive and time-consuming process, so international collaboration provides an opportunity to work to save resources. International cooperation can also ensure equality in the amount and content of information in different parts of the world. It is an opportunity for investigative journalists and organizations to contribute and receive in the fight against Covid-19 misinformation.
