Abstract
Medical professionals need medical services like the general population. Work in hospitals and health care facilities predisposes them to variety of different occupational hazards, diseases, and illnesses. Additionally, the current pandemic has challenged health care systems globally and with that the medical professionals resources have been stretched to the maximum. The research paper explores the different problems and challenges occupational medicine might face when facing a medical professional as a patient in occupational office. The literature review is conducted and relevant research to this research paper is identified and reviewed. Mental health problems are identified as a common health challenge amongst health care workers. Working conditions and lack of support from organizational level challenge the well-being of the employees. Also, COVID-19 has introduced new occupational problems and increased the prevalence of already existing challenges. The important role of occupational medicine in prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of occupational diseases of medical professionals is identified in the research.
